President
IBA San Fernando Valley

It’s 2012 and we’re off and running at the IBA-SFV!! New regimes generally like to make major changes to give it their own mark. It is of my belief with all of the talent we have on the 2012 board, we don’t need to make any major changes, we just need to polish what we already know works. The IBA-SFV has been installing Presidents and Executive Officers for 63 years now. What could I possibly do better than just enhance (polish) what the former leaders have already done? This is where polishing comes into play.

I’ve heard from my fellow carriers and affiliations that the value of the IBA has diminished. The statement that comes to mind is as follows:
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein….

Your IBA-SFV board hears you…we know that value is important. We know that new faces (blood) and relationships are important. So, here’s what we challenge you carriers and boosters with: bring us your “new” agents that you make field visits to and we will discount their admission by 50% at our events. For my fellow agents: bring us your issues AND suggestions and we will discount your admission by 50% at one of our events. So you now have new potential relationships with value added. Isn’t this great? Life is hard enough at times but to be insane on top of it…..well, we all know it’s not good, and, Albert was right!

Highlighting some of the IBA-SFV events for 2012 include I-Day on 3/29/11. More than 30% of the booths have been reserved, so if you’re looking to exhibit you should consider registering now. The website is up and running for exhibitors and attendees. The golf tournament is on 5/17/12 at Moorpark Country Club with a special appearance by the “Cuervo Girls”. The Community Gala has been scheduled for 9/13/12 for the benefit of PALS in Northridge. Michelle and Darren are working on the additional “Emerging Leaders” formerly known as “Young Agent Events” for this year, so stayed tuned to your IBA-SFV portals (i.e., e-mails, facebook & twitter) for more details or check out our new and improved website at ibasfv.com.

I’m very much looking forward to this year and serving as your President for 2012. See you at our first event, which is a Pool Tournament (really this time…lol) on 2/9/12!!
